I made this list of sayings, referring to Christ being the reason for the season.  It’s supposed to be in the shape of a Christmas tree.  Looks better in Microsoft Word!

Christmas

is not a date.

It is a state of mind.

-Mary Ellen Chase

The best of all gifts around any

Christmas tree: the presence of a happy

family all wrapped up in each other. – Burton Hillis

It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.

– W.T. Ellis

If there is no joyous way to give a festive gift, give love away.

I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.

– Charles Dickens

Perhaps the best Yuletide decoration is being wreathed in smiles.

He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.

– Roy L. Smith

Peace on earth will come to stay, When we live Christmas every day.

         Helen Steiner Rice

Fail not to call to mind, in the course of the twenty-fifth of this month, that the Divinest Heart that ever walked the earth was born on that day; and then smile and enjoy yourselves for the rest of it; for mirth is also of Heaven’s making.

-Leigh Hunt

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.

         Calvin Coolidge

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more. – Dr. Seuss

Wouldn’t life be worth the living
Wouldn’t dreams be coming true
If we kept the Christmas spirit
All the whole year through?
